At exactly midnight, every clock in the city stopped. People laughed at first. They blamed power failures, broken batteries, anything ordinary enough to explain the impossible. Then morning came. The sun rose, but the clocks still showed 12:00. Phones displayed the same date. Digital billboards froze on the same advertisements. And nobody could remember what tomorrow was supposed to be. Except seventeen-year-old Alex. He woke up with a message written across his bedroom mirror in red ink: **DON'T LET TOMORROW ARRIVE.** He had no memory of writing it. Outside, the city looked normal, but the people seemed strangely empty. A woman stood in front of a bakery, unable to remember why she had come. A bus driver stared at his route map as if he had never seen a road before. Then Alex noticed something terrifying. Every photograph taken the previous day had changed. In each picture, a tall, faceless figure stood somewhere in the background, watching. Alex searched his phone for answers and found a video recorded at 11:59 p.m. the previous night. It showed him standing in the middle of the city, speaking directly to the camera. “If you're watching this, I've failed,” his recorded self whispered. “Tomorrow isn't a day. It's something coming for us.” The video ended with Alex looking over his shoulder. Then the screen went black. Suddenly, every clock in the city moved forward by one second. 12:00:01. People screamed as the sky cracked like glass. Alex ran toward the central clock tower, where the faceless figure waited beneath its enormous frozen hands. “You wanted to know what happens tomorrow,” the figure said. Alex stepped closer. “Who are you?” The figure slowly raised its head. “You.” Alex froze. The figure had his voice. His height. Even the small scar above his eyebrow. “But I'm here,” Alex whispered. “Not yet,” the figure replied. “I'm what remains after tomorrow happens.” The clocks began ticking faster. Alex understood then. The city hadn't lost tomorrow. Tomorrow had already happened. And something had erased it from everyone's memory to keep the world from discovering how it ended. The figure held out its hand. “Come with me,” it said. “We can stop it this time.” Alex looked at the city, at the people who had forgotten their own futures. Then he took the figure's hand. Every clock struck midnight. And for the first time, tomorrow began. **The End.** If you could see one day of your future, would you want to know what happens?
